The Rent to Mortgage scheme was introduced in 1993 to help tenants who could not afford the full purchase price under the Right to Buy. If you feel that this applies to you, or you have received your valuation and realise that you can’t afford to buy your home, read the ODPM/Welsh Assembly Government booklet ‘Rent to Mortgage’. Note: after 17 July 2005, the Rent to Mortgage scheme will no longer be available. However, all applications for Rent to Mortgage received on or before that date will be processed.
